About This Title The Catechism of Perseverence, frist published in the 1800's, was studied by St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus. This Catechism was written to help Catholics to continue to grow in the knowledge of the Faith after having received the basic catechetical instructions necessary for the Sacraments they receive in childhood. Thus it is intended to give a deeper understanding of the Faith that will help them to persevere in the Faith to the end of their lives. "For Those Called to the Holy State of Matrimony" was excerpted from this catechism to make its refreshing teaching on the dignity and duties of Catholic marriage readily available. In these times of relentless attack on the institution of marriage, such knowledge seems more important than ever. Are Catholics today aware of the Church's definition of marriage? Are they aware of the dispositions all souls should have who enter this state of life? Are they aware of the great dignity Our Lord Jesus Christ gave to marriage and the respective duties each of the spouses has before God — which differ for man and wife? Are they aware of the great impact good Christian marriages have on society? This booklet gives instruction on all this and more! ( Back to List of Titles )
